國際氣候發展智庫（International Climate Development Institute）研究團隊，於2024年11月親自拜訪面臨高度氣候威脅的南島語系民族邦交國－吐瓦魯，與當地各公私部門、組織進行深度訪談。團隊從吐瓦魯帶回珍貴的田野資料，將於〖2025臺北國際書展－原住民族委員會「綜合書區b723展位」〗講座中分享。講座邀請國內重要專家學者共同參與座談，針對其他南島國家之訪視經驗進行討論。

全球面臨氣候變遷威脅，臺灣作為南島語系民族一份子，以太平洋南島地區夥伴（例如，吐瓦魯、帛琉、紐西蘭、菲律賓）經歷作行動參考標竿，適度與南島民族國家夥伴共同牽繫對話、合作橋樑將是重要關鍵。對此，本講座以「攜手南島夥伴協力永續：實地走訪吐瓦魯經驗分享」為主題；由國際氣候發展智庫研究團隊至吐瓦魯實地走訪經驗切入，邀請國內相關領域的重要專家學者參與座談，探討南島夥伴經歷何種衝擊挑戰與策略發展，並從該脈絡中窺探可借鑑之經驗；藉此探究臺灣作為南島語系民族一份子應如何在氣候議題中定位，也更進一步成為氣候協力行動參與者。
The world is facing the threat of climate change, and as a member of the Austronesian-speaking community, Taiwan can look to the experiences of its Pacific Austronesian partners (such as Tuvalu, Palau, New Zealand, and the Philippines) as benchmarks for action. Building appropriate dialogue and collaborative bridges with Austronesian nations and partners will be a critical key. In light of this, the lecture, themed "Climate Challenges and Adaptation of Austronesian Partners: Experiences from a Field Visit to Tuvalu," focuses on the field experiences of the research team from the International Climate Development Institute in Tuvalu. The event invites prominent domestic experts and scholars from relevant fields to participate in discussions, exploring the challenges and impacts faced by Austronesian partners and identifying lessons that can be drawn from these contexts. This serves as a foundation to examine how Taiwan, as part of the Austronesian-speaking community, should position itself in climate issues and further engage as a participant in collaborative climate action.
